Chapter 78 Kidnap (One)

• There were a series of messages between Becca and the Peter guy, dating back to when they were still dating. Ryan wondered if he should even be going through her phone, but he needed to know. Once he started going through the phone though, he almost wished he hadn’t. Most of the messages from Peter’s end were not only sexual, but also vulgar and disrespectful, and he kept sending them, even after Ryan and Becca were married. The tone of the messages suggested that he was threatening her for some reason. Becca didn’t reply to most of them, or maybe she had deleted her replies, although that was absurd.
• Ryan spent over an hour going through her messages, of which there was a ton, mostly from Peter. It was now clear to Ryan that Becca did not delete her replies, but had been ignoring the man most of the time because Peter kept referring to how she was ignoring him. By the time Ryan was done, he realized two things, one of which was that he was probably the world’s greatest fool, and the other was that he had wronged Becca so badly that he had no idea where on earth to start to right his wrongs. From what he saw in the messages, the Peter guy was a manipulator and had been abusing Becca, hence she had broken up with him, months before Ryan even came on the scene.
• The man was clearly obsessed with her and had been blackmailing her, but curiously, despite all the tons of messages that he sent, he never mentioned the reason why he was blackmailing her, and neither did Becca, not that it mattered now. The part where Peter had stated that Becca was cheating on Ryan with him too was clearly a lie because Ryan saw that he had threatened to frame her, mentioning some photos that he was going to use as a backup. Ryan had no idea what those photos were, but he guessed that they were the nudes of Becca that the bastard had. Apparently, Becca had somehow known that Peter was laundering money, and had threatened to report him if he didn’t stop, but he, in turn, had threatened to frame her with something that Ryan couldn’t figure out from the texts, as well as lie to Ryan that she was cheating on him.
