Chapter 25 Shameless (Two)
- “Alright. I’ll come back when she’s around, then.” Becca told him and walked back to her house, feeling sorry for poor Sandra, who clearly loved her husband very much and had no idea what he did when she wasn't looking. It never ceased to amaze her how women who loved and cared for their men so much, were always ill-treated. She was just really thankful that she was not that close to Sandra, to be in the awkward position of having to decide whether to inform her that her dear husband was a cheating bastard, or not. That was not a position she ever wanted to find herself in and she had no idea what she was going to do if she ever found herself in such a situation. Some men were just unbelievable.
- Thinking about this brought back to mind just how Ryan had ill-treated her. Becca scowled, as she was wont to do anytime she thought about him. She now understood what whoever had said that ‘the line between love and hatred is a very thin one,’ meant when they said that. If anyone had told her that she would hate Ryan, and so soon, at that, she would not have believed it. Now, the thought of him irritated her to no end, and she was now fiercely glad that she had not informed him of her pregnancy.
- This child was hers, and hers alone, and she could not wait for her precious baby to be born. The pregnancy was going well, and for that, she was more than grateful. She still lived in daily fear that something was going to go wrong at any minute now, so much so that she had rushed over to Dr. Thomas’s office for an examination the day after she got back from her brother’s place. The doctor had assured her that all was fine and that there was no cause for alarm, so long as she continued using her vitamins as he told her, and did everything she was told to do.
