• By the time Becca came out of her room, where she had gone to change into more presentable clothes, Ryan had gone, which was a relief. She felt sort of bad that she had treated him the way she had, but she had had to do it, because she had once been a fool where he was concerned, and she was afraid that it would be all too easy to become that dumb woman again.
