• Becca and Toby arrived at Dan’s house at exactly ten minutes past eight. Dan opened the door to let them in, looking like a million bucks. From the looks of him, he had just freshly showered and smelled so good that Becca fought the urge to lean into him. She was keenly aware of her brother, who was looking between her and Dan, though, so she smiled at Dan and tried her best to act normal.
• “Hey, you. What’s up? Why are you dressed up? Oh, this is my brother Toby, whom I told you was coming to spend Christmas and New Year holidays with me. Toby, this is Dan, Sandra’s brother.” Becca introduced them. They both shook hands.
• “Nice to meet you, Toby. Becca here can hardly stop talking about you.”
