Chapter 223 Aftermath (One)
- Ryan stared unseeingly at the television, the air conditioner in the room turned on full blast. Contrary to what he was sure that everyone was thinking about him, he wasn’t licking his wounds in private. Well, maybe he was in a way, but definitely not in the way that they thought. He was extremely embarrassed, that was for sure. He had had to steer clear of the gossip channels when he saw what they were saying about him. He couldn’t blame them though. How on earth could he tell anyone that the reason he hadn’t been having sex with his former fiancée was that he felt an odd sense of loyalty to his ex-wife, who clearly did not give a flying fuck about him?
- As a matter of fact, he was somehow relieved at the way things had turned out with Tracy. He wasn’t even mad at her, after all, he had literally been starving her of sex. So, in a way, her cheating had been partially his fault, or at least he thought so. Still, he had seen a way out of the wedding that he didn’t want, and hell, he had taken it. He was just relieved that he didn’t have to go through with it, which he supposed made him a coward if he couldn’t come out right and tell Tracy he didn’t want to marry her. However, what was the point when Becca’s boyfriend had proposed to her, and she had accepted, albeit reluctantly? He had noticed that she didn’t seem thrilled at the proposal, but maybe it was just because she felt embarrassed having her boyfriend propose at someone else’s wedding.
- Whatever the case, she was off the market, for good this time, and he would just have to deal with it. Still, it hurt him way more than he cared to admit, so he was just content to stay in here, and talk to no one, even though hunger pangs were gnawing at his stomach, considering that he hadn’t eaten all day. To think that he had managed to keep a low profile all these years, so much so that most people did not know that he had a daughter, not to talk of two. He preferred it that way, but now, everything was going to be blown wide open with the way things were going, it seemed.
