Chapter 150 Utter Shock (Two)

• The party was a huge success that ended all too soon in the opinion of the participants, but most of their parents had returned to collect them at the closing time that was specified, and since the organizers couldn’t keep the parents waiting, the party had had to come to a close. Emma, Taylor, and Alex had been inseparable through it all, and now, all three wore identical sad looks and turned puppy faces in the direction of Ryan, who had come back to pick up his daughter. He was standing outside the hall by his rental car with Sandra, who had set her sights on him and engaged him in a conversation, which to his surprise, he was actually enjoying. A few other kids, whose parents had not yet arrived to pick them up, were playing around under the watchful eyes of the staff.
• “You guys can play some more until Dan is ready to take Alex and Emma home. I don’t have anything to do anyway.” Ryan encouraged, and the three of them rushed off to do just that without waiting to hear more.
• “So, Ryan … you really came all the way over here to surprise a kid you don’t know? That’s really thoughtful and sweet of you.” Sandra was saying to Ryan as Dan sauntered over to where they were and once again thanked Ryan for bringing Taylor to the party and for the presents.
