Chapter 29 A Long Night (Two)
- “I’m sorry, babe. Don’t mind me. I’m just tired. Of course, we’ll go see Ryan. I miss him too, you know.” He told her, but Meghan was not placated by his apology, so she stared out the window stiffly, not talking to him for the duration of the ride. It was only when they got to Ryan’s house that she lightened up a bit. After dinner, they spent more time than Craig would have liked there, but he knew how close his wife and her brother were, and let her talk her fill to him. By the time they were leaving, it was already a few minutes to twelve, and the drive from Ryan’s house to theirs was almost an hour drive. Besides, it looked like it was going to rain again.
- “Damn it.” Craig cursed as it started to rain heavily, not more than ten minutes after he began driving them back home. “I knew we should have stayed home.”
- “Stop being such a baby, Craig. It’s just rain, and you’re not made of salt. Besides, we’re in a car for crying out loud. Why are you making such a big deal out of nothing?”
