Chapter 164 Visitor (Two)

• “I brought Chinese food. Your favorite … I wasn’t sure if you were hungry or … um … anyway, I went out to eat with Taylor and thought you guys might want some Chinese.” He lapsed into silence, his cheeks pinking faintly at the unfriendly look on her face. He knew that it was his fault though, because of the way he had foolishly let his emotions get the best of him when he had first come back into her life. Emma heard his voice from inside the house and immediately forgot her sullenness.
• “Daddy!” She cried out happily and bounded over to hug him around the legs, causing him to almost upend what he was carrying. He extended the packages to Becca, who had no choice but to collect them from him.
• “Come in.” She said shortly and turned to go in, leaving him to close the door and follow her into the house. It was the first time that he was stepping foot inside her house since he came back into her life, and Becca saw him looking around the small house curiously.
