Chapter 57 Picture-perfect Family
- It was amazing, and strange how quickly time flew by. The twins were now four months, going on five months old, and Ryan had developed such a bond with them that in just the two months plus of their living with him, he could not imagine his life without seeing their smiles. So this was what it felt like to be a parent? Not that he considered himself to be fully their parent. Craig was still alive, or more truthfully, barely alive. It was four months since the accident and the surgery that the doctors had had to carry out to save his life, but he still remained in a coma, and Ryan was beginning to despair that he would ever come out of it.
- The doctors had talked about taking off the life support, but Ryan would not hear of it, at least not for now. He still chose to hope that at any time now, Craig would come out of his coma. Angela was now a permanent fixture in the house, having inserted herself as a ‘surrogate mother’ to the twins, just as she had said she would. She was so good with them that Ryan could not complain one bit, although he had still insisted on hiring at least one more nanny to make the task easier for her.
- She seemed to love the kids, and they also seemed to love her a lot, especially Tyler, who was clearly enraptured with her and was always happier whenever she was around. He was such a happy kid, and always full of smiles for anyone who came around him, unlike his sister, who was a little more reserved and preferred to watch people closely with a curious expression on her chubby, angelic face. She also cried a lot, and the only person who could easily get her to calm down was Ryan.
