Chapter 17 Disguise

• It was more than a week later when Becca finally surfaced from hiding inside her house. By this time, the scandal had mostly died down, just as she had known it would, although now and then, there was still some reference to her. It galled her to think that they never used her name, and always had to refer to her as Mr. Harris's ex-wife, or even former Mrs. Ryan. It was really ridiculous, although when she contemplated further on the matter, she realized that it was probably better for her as she had no idea of changing her name, and it would be better if they didn't refer to her as 'Becca.'
• The major thing the hungry media bothered themselves about now, was the seemingly budding relationship between Ryan and Angela. The two seemed to grow closer as the days passed, but Becca refused to allow this to bother her. She had a huge chunk of money, most of which was from the sale of the house that Ryan had given her, but she had no plans of touching the money yet. Surprisingly, she had still got a good price for the house, despite how quickly she had been willing to sell it off and go as far away as possible from that state. Now that she had decided to keep her baby, she would save that money for future purposes.
• Deciding that it was high time she went to a proper hair stylist to make her hair look more presentable, she dressed up and headed out of the house for the first time in almost a week. It was pathetic, but now, she was done hiding. If anyone recognized her, then so be it. They could not beat her up, after all. The worst they could do was to gossip, point, and whisper about her, and then, they would have no choice but to forget about it. However, she hoped no one would recognize her. She had no wish for Ryan to know that she was pregnant. There was no telling what he would do about it.
