• “She’s sick. But she’s here.” Alex said. Ryan heard some rustling and then Emma’s voice came over the phone, sounding even weaker than he had thought it would be. Ryan’s heart sank, but he told her how much he loved her and how he was going to get her back home in no time. Finally, the kidnapper took the phone from her and spoke again.
• “So, you’ve ascertained that your kids are fine. They’ll be fine until I get the money. Get a piece of paper and pen so you can jot down the account details. Remember that at the sign of any funny business…” The guy trailed off, but his meaning was crystal clear.
