Chapter 43 Amelia Pov

  • The loud thudding against my door makes me jolt up in my bed. When I asked who was there, suddenly the thudding stopped. I was really scared to go and check who was at the door but I had to. Slowly, I crawled out of my bed cursing myself for telling Karla to leave and that I was okay to spend the night alone. I guess that wasn't the case since I was so fucking scared right now.
  • I slowly went to the door. Placing my ear by the door, I didn't hear anything and after listening for a while, I thought it was just my paranoia getting to me, I exhaled. Maybe the scary movies I watched caught up to me. When I walked to the window to get some air on the balcony, the door suddenly bursts open revealing Athena who walked into my room with her signature smirk on her face. She shut the door behind her. Going towards my bed, she sat down and patted the space near her but I stayed rooted in my spot. She frowned, motioning for me to come closer but I refused. She stood up angrily pushing down my lampstand. I jumped looking at her with wide eyes. What the hell was she doing in here? And I'm sure I locked the door. How did she get in? The killer look in her eyes was scary. Athena looked unrecognizable with the way her eyes were blazing with anger, her usual grey eyes were deep yellow as she bared her teeth at me advancing towards me.
  • I was quick to shut the glass doors leading to the balcony, locking myself there in the process. I didn't mind, as long as it kept me away from Athena and her craziness. That night, I was aware of her intention and I am sure it wasn't good. Those killer eyes didn't hold any emotions. It was like I was staring at a brick wall. I tried to talk to her through the glass door but what Athena did shocked me. She tilted her head to the side, if I wasn't in a dire situation I would have found her action really innocent but the way she was smirking creepily as she banged her hands on the glass doors was something else. I looked at her like she had totally lost it but that only fuelled her desire of wanting to break the door. I started growing worried when the glass cracked a little as Athena kept on pounding, blood trailing down her hands, staining the glass. She successfully broke it, glass shards sticking to her palms. I took a step back as she opened the door, stepping fully into the balcony, laughing at my scared face. Any step she took, I took two back until my back hit the railings of the balcony. I looked down when I noticed how high my room was. There was no way I was going to survive that jump even if I tried. If I had transformed, then that would have been a different story. It's like my thoughts gave ideas and ideas as she asked me, "Do you think you can survive the fall if I pushed you down from here? Even if you did survive, your bones would be broken, and knowing the fact you haven't yet transformed, that may take a while to heal."
