• Monique was about to enter her and her husband's bedroom when she suddenly stopped. She took a step back from the door and looked at the study room next to it. Earlier, they had been together in the living room, watching the news on their flat-screen TV when he excused himself to go upstairs to the study room. He had something important to finish and needed to send an email today. His workload had piled up quite a bit because he hadn't been to the office for almost a week, choosing to stay at home with her.
• Now, they were both back to work. He had reminded her firmly to wait for him at her clinic until he arrived to pick her up. He insisted on her not to commute alone anymore. He didn't want a repeat of what happened last week, and she didn't want to commute either. She was done with taxis, too afraid to get in one.
