Chapter 29 Traces Of The Night

  • When Monique woke up the next morning, Joshua was no longer beside her. Instead of getting up, she remained lying on her bed, clutching her pillow. She could still smell Joshua's masculine scent on the pillow he had used. Monique couldn't help but bite her lower lip as she remembered the intimate moments they had shared. They had come close to crossing a line the previous night, and it would have happened if Joshua hadn't exercised self-control. Maybe if he hadn't restrained himself, she would have given herself to him completely.
  • Monique also wondered why Joshua had controlled himself even though she knew he was as affected by their actions as she was. She could feel his arousal that night. Perhaps he had been thinking of her parents in the adjacent room. Maybe he respected her and her parents, knowing that she wanted to give herself to her future husband. She also felt a bit shy about telling Joshua that she was ready. After that, they had both fallen asleep, side by side, holding each other, and she had slept soundly that night.
  • Monique let out a deep sigh and remained lying there for a moment before finally getting out of bed. She walked to her bathroom to wash up and brush her teeth. After finishing, she left the bathroom and her bedroom, heading for the kitchen in their house. It felt nostalgic when she saw her mother busy cooking. She also noticed Joshua helping her mother in the kitchen.
