Chapter 38 Lucky's Lecture

• Monique came to a halt in her walk when she heard her husband's voice, as if he were talking to someone, not scolding them. She couldn't help but furrow her brow. It was just the two of them inside her condo. Who could he possibly be scolding? Was he talking to someone on the phone? To satisfy her curiosity, she looked around to locate her husband and found him in the living room of her condo. He was sitting on the sofa, and in front of him was Lucky, their dog. It was at that moment that she realized he wasn't talking on his phone, but rather, he was addressing and scolding their pet dog, Lucky.
• "I don't want your attitude earlier, Lucky. You disturbed what we were doing," her husband scolded the dog.
• Monique couldn't help but smile when she heard her husband's words. He was referring to the near incident that almost happened between them earlier in the dining area, but was interrupted by Lucky's howling. She had witnessed the frustration and longing in his face at the time when their intimate moment was cut short. She even thought he might have scolded Lucky a bit too much.
