Chapter 16 Lunch Break Intrigue

• Monique glanced at the paper bag resting on her table. Inside was the leather jacket that Jacob had lent her when an accident had soaked her clothes. She had already washed it, and she had planned to return the jacket, but she hadn't had the chance.
• It had also been a while since she last saw Jacob. He hadn't returned to her Pet Clinic because his Doberman's appointment was scheduled for the following week. Monique had taken the jacket with her, thinking she could give it back to Joshua, who would then return it to his brother . However, she hadn't crossed paths with Joshua either, as he was busy with work and his office duties. Despite this, Joshua never forgot to call her and inquire about her well-being. Sometimes, they even had video calls.
