• Driving home from work this evening I was thinking of any number of things that needed to be accomplished soon, but tonight was going to just be my Anise and me. She is all I want for my birthday; in any way I can get her.
• I nodded to the guards on duty as I passed through the gates and was wondering if Cookie was going to make my favorite German chocolate cake for dessert tonight. When the mansion came into view, I saw several guards charging towards the back as Frannie ran up the front steps. ‘REPORT,’ I shouted through the mind-link.
• “Your father escaped and has a silver knife,” was the reply from I really don’t remember who because my heart sank. I slammed on the breaks and jumped out of the car and ran up the front steps of the mansion.
