• “Wake up, Anise. We’ll be home in five minutes,” Kieran said as he gently nudged me from sleep. I must have slept a lot longer than I anticipated and stretched while trying to stifle a yawn.
• “Sorry, I only meant to get a quick nap and then keep you company while you drove,” I mumbled, trying not to yawn again.
• “I’m fine and you looked so peaceful that I didn’t want to wake you until now. I thought you would want to be awake as we entered Cold Moon territory,” he chirped happily. He was excited to show me his home and his excitement reminded me of a pup wanting to show their mom their school project.
