Chapter 29 Frannie

  • Just as the second song that Kieran and I danced to ended, he kissed me tenderly before I pulled away. As my hand slid down Kieran’s arm the moon hit its apex and the combination of leather and musk filled my nostrils as our fingers brushed and sparks danced between them. I looked up to see a smile bloom on Kieran’s face as my heart dropped into my stomach and a gasp escaped my lips.
  • I had gained and lost everything in one moment. I couldn’t accept the bond, but I couldn’t crush Kieran either. He was the one person who understood me. How could fate be so cruel? I wanted Kieran’s friendship, but I didn’t want to be the Luna of a pack. I didn’t want to lose my identity to a life of caring for a pack and I still wasn’t sure I really wanted a pup, ever.
  • Kieran must have read the panic in my eyes, because he reached out and grabbed my hand to pull me close once more. I tried to put up a fight as tears began to fall but he tightened his arms around me. “I need you to hear me out, Anise. Will you stop struggling long enough to listen to what I have to say? Please,” he pleaded.
