Chapter 62
- Lorenzo's POV
- I had just arrived home from a business meeting. The company's clients needed to meet the new COO who was filling in my former position. I had known Conner for a very long time, him having been working for John Snipers would have given me enough reason to hate him but the guy had good ideas, some of which John had foolishly turned down. Conner expressed his suffering to me, he even helped me modify my plans to pave the best way for company profits. All the ideas that John turned down happened to be working for me. When Conner told me he was thinking of leaving his company, I jumped at the opportunity of having him work close by me.
- As I introduced him to the different firms we were in cooperation with, I realised that the only flow he had was the potential to be a better man for Marilyn. Yet, when I was working close to him, he dared not mention her name. He looked too focused on the current situation to have been thinking about her and yet they were spending a lot of time together. I didn't want to overthink it.
