- Adeline's POV
- Before I could sit down on the couch, the doorbell rang again, and this time it was Ethan, his eyes fixed on me. He hugged me and expressed feelings in a way that I couldn't even understand in my alcohol-induced haze. I couldn't even look at him, I just stood there awkwardly, trying to keep my face stoic. He was wearing a suit, a court suit, of course.
- "Adeline," he said softly. "How are you today?" "I feel good," I answered categorically. "Are you drunk?" he asked, and I was caught off guard by the question and looked at him without saying a word. After a moment, I nodded. "I'm a little bit old, why do you ask?" He frowned at my answer.
