Chapter 51
- Marilyn's POV
- My eyes were burning, tears ran down my cheeks as I fled from the hotel, making sure that Lorenzo didn't see me leave. I took my heels off and moved as fast as could. I was disgusted with myself for having lost to Yvonne, why did I even attempt to come? Should I call Adeline now and let her know? No, I didn't want to throw her back into something she said she wasn't going to do again, but she wasn't going to mind if it was for a friend right? I began to breathe heavily as all the thoughts flooded my head. I stopped running to catch my breath.
- Realising that I was far enough from the hotel, I took my shoes off and set them aside to run in bare feet later on, then walked along with more of a gait that was not so fast. A couple of people passing by gave me strange looks until they saw me looking at them. Then, their expressions changed to sympathy. My heart rate slowly calmed down, I stared into the distance and noticed a decent club where I could hopefully take refuge from the world, or rather some sort of comfort from myself, for a while at least.
