• Marilyn's POV
• During the meeting, Yvonne appeared more engaged than me. Although I was preoccupied with taking minutes, I had expressed my opinions beforehand. In contrast, Yvonne seemed to be just sitting there, fixated on Lorenzo as he spoke. I found it annoying that she might have believed she was trying to get his attention. My frustration died down when Lorenzo mentioned my name, "with the help of Ms Russell, I managed to come up with a list of general managers I'd like to put into power for these listed branches."
• I smiled a little when Lorenzo glanced at me, his smirk was enough to light my whole day up. Yet, Yvonne glared at me from across the table. I raised my eyebrow at her, silently telling her that I wasn't in any trouble, but she ignored me. And then it happened; one of the men on Lorenzo's team turned around at the mention of his name and, without any warning whatsoever, pointed at me. His actions caught the attention of everybody else in the room, making them look at me. "This young lady here helped you get to those conclusions? You truly do have great subordinates by your side!" he spoke.
