• Marilyn's POV
• The days went on as predicted, Lorenzo and Conner, tried to be diplomatic around their work. Lorenzo was constantly out of the office. If he was in, then it was for a short period. Sometimes Conner travelled and did errands with him, which must have given Lorenzo a calm peace of mind since he didn't have to worry about Conner making moves on me. And when he came back, he always seemed more content. The boys had gotten used to their new lives.
• Sometimes, Lorenzo preferred to work from home, but Conner preferred to be around the crowd. Sometimes, Lorenzo would give me tasks just so I could be working closely with Jamie. She wasn't a pleasant one herself, she would spend half of every passing five minutes complaining about how she wished Lorenzo made a little effort to be closer to her. "It's like he can't let his former PA go? How'd you do it, Marilyn?" She'd shamelessly ask, even after having insulted me on multiple occasions. I knew better than to tell Jamie that I'd been rescued by the man from a psycho who reminded me of her already, and that's where it started.
