• Ethan's POV
• Chaos fills the edges of my mind as I struggle to unravel the mystery before me. Why did this mysterious man express his gratitude to Adeline? What did Lucy D'silva have to do with him, what did her opinion have to do with it? I turned and looked at Adeline with an innocent expression on her face. I yearned to unravel the truth and untangle the mystery surrounding it as the storm of doubt brewed within me. However, I thought it best to put the thought aside and look at it again in the morning.
• Adeline moaned out of her deep sleep as the first rays of sunlight streamed through the drawn curtains, giving the room a golden hue. It occurred to me that she would wake up with the pain of a hangover, and I happened to be without any suitable treatment. I quickly pulled on the appropriate clothing and began rushing to the nearest pharmacy. I hastily left a scribbled note informing her of my absence in the situation that she awoke before I arrived, and headed out to get the painkillers she needed.
