Chapter 21
- Ethan's POV
- It was a bright summer's day, and the sky was clear. The grass in the small meadow was still green, and birds chirped cheerfully as they flew through the air above the meadow. And that wasn't even the prettiest part of the picture. No, it was the sound. In this peaceful spot, I sat with my canvas painting the scenery around me. It was an incredibly gorgeous scene, full of vibrant colors and life. If I didn't know better, I would have said someone had painted it to look just like that scene outside. It was beautiful. The light, the trees, the grass… Everything seemed so real. So alive. When I painted it was like I had escaped a part of my reality.
- It had been two days since my dinner date with Adeline, she had asked me to give her a little space so that she could get her mind back on track after the fright. My father forcefully took over the Linsdon project and put me on signing document duty. I was doing my best to keep a close eye on him, but this was also my time to unwind. When I struggled to get my painting right, I drove back home from the meadow, my secluded, peaceful home, for some wine and rest.
