• Adeline's POV
• Ethan asked me to get some things from my home and said it was better to stay with him so I could be under his close supervision. When I got home, Michael was standing at my door talking to Marilyn about something... and when he and she got settled in the kitchen, all I heard was Marilyn yelling. "What did you do?!" Marilyn slammed her hands on the kitchen counter and glared at Michael, struggling to get up after all the kitchen utensils she threw at him. Marilyn didn't want to scream, but when she heard that Michael had betrayed her, she couldn't control her anger. I was too shocked to even look at Michael.
• "Listen, Adeline, you have to trust me. I didn't want to, Lucy has a hold on me and I'll take every opportunity to warn you. She forced me to come here with her. We were looking for you, luckily you were not home... But she'll be back. She suspects I let you run…"
