Chapter 12
- Ethan's POV
- I opened the door for her, taking her by the hand. She tightened her little red scarf around her shoulders. I unlocked my door and Adeline let out a gasp that I never thought anyone would be impressed by the sight of this place.
- Entering the front door, Adeline's eyes were drawn to the gorgeous chandelier hanging over the living room, the crystal prisms emitting a warm glow as if welcoming guests. The living room was spacious but not crowded, the perfect balance for those who crave comfort and luxury. The sound of wood crackling in the fireplace filled the room with soft sounds perfect for an intimate gathering or a quiet evening alone, or so I thought as I turned to see the house lights twinkling in her eyes. I led her further into the kitchen, where stainless steel dishes hung stylishly over the counter. "Wow, what a beautiful place, will we eat here?" asked Adeline. I shook my head and led her outside, where the wraparound deck provided ample space for al fresco dining and lounging. There was a garden full of rose bushes. This was what I planned. An ideal place is a private garden. The centre table was covered with rustic white tablecloths trimmed with lace tablecloths and decorated with ornate plates, elegant flatware and exquisite wine glasses. Candles of various sizes, colours and scents were placed around the dining area to create a soft and comforting atmosphere. Adelina took a deep breath. She turned to me and hugged me tightly, "Ethan, this is different than I expected." I returned the hug, glad that she was enjoying what I had prepared. "I want you to meet Fredrick, the family butler I borrowed here for the night and friend," I pointed to the wonderful man who came around the corner, who placed a bouquet of roses and other flowers on the table and made a romantic and charming, "Welcome, Madame Adeline, I have heard a lot about you." Adeline bowed to the 55-year-old man. I led her closer to the table and pulled a seat for her.
