Chapter 77
- When I heard the knock on the door, I knew that I’d been found. I had peace and quiet for an entire three days during which there was never a knock on the door. The knocking was loud and incessant. It made me rise from my seat but I didn’t approach the door. I didn’t want to open the door and see who was on the other side of it.
- “Selene, open this door or I’m going to break it down.” There was Xander‘s voice, clear as day and intent on actually breaking down the door.
- I didn’t want to open the door but I didn’t want him to break it down. Still, I dragged my feet, trying to delay the inevitable. I couldn't be gone for long. I would have returned in a short while since I wasn’t about to throw away my life and education because of heartbreak but I wished I could have delayed this meeting further. I wished I could have had a bit more time to digest the information I just found out.
