Chapter 51
- I believed in Xander. I trusted Xander but this – this rattled me. It made me start thinking, what if. What if he did not truly like me? What if I was just an easy target as Ethan was insinuating? The ‘what ifs’ that I wanted to silence did not agree to be silenced.
- It was genuine. It had to be genuine. There was no way he could fake – there was no way the affection in his eyes was fake. Xander liked me so I did not have to worry. Yet the little devil on my shoulder asked me why he never mentioned all this to me. The little devil also reminded me of the times when he would randomly mention marking me or how he liked to bite and suck on my neck as if preparing to mark me.
- “Is it so hard to figure out?” Ethan snorted. “You’ve been obsessed with him your whole life and then you suddenly stopped. There was no guarantee you would not go back to chasing after him if you found out he needed an alpha she-wolf!”
