• From the start, I felt something was off about the proposal these men brought to us but my father was more than ecstatic about this deal so I was told to look at it with a favorable eye. It was too good to be true and anything too good to be true was most likely not true. I had been listening to them yap on and on about how big of a breakthrough this would be for my pack but I could not pinpoint what was wrong. Thanks to Selene, I now had a valid reason to further investigate these people.
• “You are insane,” Ethan, who had stopped talking to me since I found my mate and could not be threatened to stay away from Selene, said once the meeting was over and the other party left. “How can you throw away such a great opportunity? What if they get offended and no longer want to work with us? Have you considered how your father would react? He was looking forward to this deal!”
