Chapter 33

• I paused mid-way through opening my door and just – I just stared at them. He had his hand around her waist and he leaned down to whisper something into her ear. She giggled some more. It was the most annoying sound I ever heard in my life.
• “Oh, hi, Selene,” Xander greeted when he raised his head.
• My eyes moved from the girl in his arms to him. His face was bright as if he had just discovered the most precious thing in the world. His eyes were alive, those eyes that I had thought often of were alive because of the girl in his arms.
