Chapter 74

• I didn’t know where I was going but I left the hospital in a daze. My legs carried me as I switched off all thoughts and just – I just went. My eyes were heavy like someone who hadn’t gotten a wink of sleep in days but I still found myself going. I just kept going without knowing where I was headed.
• “Hello?” I put my phone to my ear without checking who was calling.
• My legs moved as if on autopilot as I walked, cars whipping past me.
