Chapter 49

It was the weekend and we were taking a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of college. I would regret it come Monday but it was Saturday, my birthday, and I was going to enjoy it to the fullest without any academic guilt. Instead of going back home and reviewing my notes as always on the weekend, Xander and I chose to watch a movie.
We were cuddled up under the sheets as the movie played. It was a movie I did not know what it was about since Xander pulled me into his arms. All I could think about was how lucky I was to be with him. Even if it was for a day, a day with him was better than no day at all. Even if he belonged to someone else, I could enjoy now that he was mine. Yes, he was mine. I was not stealing or borrowing him. In this moment, he was mine, regardless of the future. In this moment, he chose to be mine so there was no need to feel guilty or apprehensive. I would enjoy this moment for as long as I could and not waste another second thinking of what disaster may arise in the future.
“You’re not watching the movie.” I turned my head to see Xander watching me. “Shall I change it?”
