Chapter 253
- Sophia leans against the counter, and carefully studies Regina's hands as they are busy with prepping the food. "Can I ask you something?" She heard Regina hum in response. "Do you think your life would have been different, had he been alive right now?"
- Regina stopped, and was lost in thought before she turned to Sophia. "Yes," she nods, her voice filled with sadness. "It would have been different." She turns back to prepping another roll. "For starters, he would have never allowed my mother to marry me to a forty-three year old man at the time. And I probably would have a career at this point in a University somewhere. Maybe New York."
- Forty-three. That's how old Leopold was when Regina was just an innocent, frightened sixteen year old girl.
