Chapter 19

• Sophia's one good eye looks up at Regina, and given the look she can pick up from her right now, she can't understand why but it constricts her heart in that moment. Was she really blaming herself over an accident that could have happened to anyone?
• "Mom," Elise's voice startles both women of their own thoughts. "It wasn't anyone's fault. It was an accident." She gives her mother's shoulder a gentle squeeze- and Regina is thankful it's her good shoulder.
• If only Regina could believe that.
