• “Huh?” I asked in a small voice, because it suddenly seemed like I hadn’t heard what he had said clearly. I heard him start to laugh a little before finally starting to speak. “I meant that the company would be taken away from us, and we’d have no say over it.” He echoed out and my mouth fell open instantly.
• “What? Why?” I asked instantly, feeling my heart stert to hammer against the sides of my chest and ribs almost immediately as different thoughts started to echo around in my head.
