• It wasn’t like I was asking for them to maltreat Eric just because he wasn’t their child, but I just believed that there was still supposed to be some kind of special treatment which I was supposed to be given access to, no matter how tiny it was.
• I shook my head a little to clear the thoughts out of it, now wasn’t the time for me to be thinking about all of that; I was supposed to be more focused on the reason as to why Jack had decided to give me a call, and why he was suddenly acting like he cared about what it was that had went down between Eric and I.
