Chapter 188
- Nate’s POV
- I stared down the hallway as Jack walked towards the elevator. He turned around in the elevator and just stared at me with a facial expression I couldn’t read, right before the doors of the elevator slide close, leaving me still standing in my opened door way, and with a long breath leaving my lungs, I slowly turned around and made my way into my apartment, pushing the door closed behind me and leaning against the cold surface of the door heavily. The breaths that left my mouth were like pants, like I had been running for a while and was just catching my breath right now.
- My mind instantly drifted towards the hug which Jack had pulled me into, right there at the opened doorway, like he had read my mind in that particular moment. The hug had felt so perfect, I wasn’t sure I’ve ever hugged him that tightly before. It was something I had been longing for, for a really long whine, coupled with how drained the conversation had both had, had ended up leaving me really light headed. I puffed out a deep breath as I pushed myself away from the door and began to make my way deeper into the house, heading straight for the sitting room to sink into the couch once again. I reached for the glass full of water on the table which I had drunk out of some time ago, and gulped the rest of the content down, placing the now empty cup on the table as I shifted a little on the couch and left my back against the backrest of the couch.
