Chapter 227
- Nate’s POV
- To say my mood got way worse after the dinner with Lucas was going to be the understatement of the year, because that was going to be a very untrue thing to say. It left me feeling guilty, sad and drained. After the whole conversation of who liked who and who didn’t like who, we continued the conversation in a really awkward silence that I began to regret coming to the dinner with so much passion. I couldn't wait to leave his presence when I finally did, but there I was, still sitting in my car that was still packed in the parking lot of the restaurant, as a lot of thoughts ran through my mind at once.
- One thing I was sure of, was that I didn’t feel like returning home at the moment. I didn’t have a lot of friends and one of them was at the other side of the counter for business related stuff, and the other one was probably asleep, or hanging out with his other friends, or doing some homework, or bonding with his dog, and if I put a call through to him, even though be didn’t wait to see me, he might just end up inviting me over anyways, and that thought didn’t leave a pleasant feeling behind its wake. I scrolled through my phone and decided to put a call through to him anyways, I might be able to feel lighter after talking to him.
