Chapter 166
- Nate’s POV
- “Huh?” I asked after a moment, blinking down at the screen on the MacBook, and that was when I noticed that there was an application for taking notes currently opened on the screen. I turned my head around to stare at Jack without thinking and my breath hitched in my throat as soon as I realized just how close to me he was. There was only a little breath of space between us and I couldn’t for the life of me, drag in a deep breath into my lungs. It took a few more seconds of me just staring into Jack’s clear blue eyes and getting pulled into it, like a magnet would pull on an iron – for me to realize just what it was that I was doing, and why I was staring at him now without saying a damn thing like a lunatic.
- I wet my throat, swallowing emptily, right before I made it to speak. “Uh, you were taking notes?” I finally asked, feeling my stomach slowly began to knot itself as soon as my own question sounded to my own ears, I sounded really dumb and slow just now. With that in mind, I tried to control the blush that was already rising above my neck to stain my cheeks, as I pulled my gaze away from his and turned my head back around until I was staring at the MacBook once again.
