Chapter 38

• Nate’s POV
• I gripped the steering wheel tightly in my hands and squeezed on it, leaning my head against it as I took in deep breaths and trying not to slip into a mood in my head that was really unreal for my life. I shook my head a little and tried to stage off the bad feeling as I tried to get myself back together as well. I was still in the spot where I had parked my car some hours ago when I had driven into my dad’s company, I had just finally left my dad’s office some time ago, finally coming to an end with the said meeting we’ve both been in for long hours.
• Apparently, he had said he was going to schedule the dinner meeting for tonight, and that I must attend it at all costs. He left me with a lot of warnings and about the fact that nothing must go wrong on my own side tonight. And also about the fact that if I dare to do something’s wrong tonight, that he was going to put my cousin in my place, and that I was going to watch my cousin go get it done at once, and then I’d automatically have no other choice than to take a step back as my cousin get all my inheritance.
