Chapter 224

• On that rainy and gray Sunday, Nadine woke up a little late in the morning and decided for the first time, since she had moved to that house, to stay and rest, unlike her other days off, where the first thing she did after waking up was shower, to go to her parents' house for breakfast and spend the whole day surrounded by her loved ones. However, on this occasion, it was the exception, as she felt very exhausted and had no desire at all to go out, especially with the pouring rain that was falling, which was very common in that city, as very few times, they enjoyed a good sun.
• Being aware that most of the staff were on their day off, she went down to the kitchen with more confidence to prepare something, she loved the solitude and peace that it provided her, so she would make the most of that moment. She had spent the last few years living alone in Luxembourg, missing her life there, missing her routine, her work, and her dear beloved grandmother, whom she used to visit every weekend and who was also able to easily bring a smile to her face, a being of light who had helped a lot in healing her wounded soul and rising from the darkness, although part of it still lingered with her, because she was not the shadow of the young, cheerful and innocent girl she once was.
• Thinking about all that and the huge turn that everything had taken lately, she began to prepare some delicious waffles, she had not eaten them in a long time, as she was very strict with her diet and nutrition, she liked to exercise and maintain an excellent figure, however, the weather and the situation warranted it, besides, her mood was at rock bottom, she did not like being back in Seattle, she did not like remembering how bad her last year of university was there, and she did not want to see that person again, who had hurt her so much.
