Chapter 128

• After finishing his drink, he decided it was better to go to rest, it wasn't worth thinking about things that really didn't matter to him and were not his concern. He passed by his little brother's room, who was peacefully sleeping in his crib, gave him a gentle kiss on his round and rosy cheeks, smiled at him, they were so cute, took a last look at the camera monitor to make sure it was on, and left. As he walked down the long and dark hallway, he couldn't help but glance at the room of a certain intruder, the reflection of light could be seen under her door and it was already quite late, almost midnight to be exact. He dismissed the matter and entered his bedroom.
• Exactly at two in the morning, Roshene woke up quite thirsty, having only managed to sleep a couple of hours. She turned on the lamp on one of her bedside tables to pour herself a glass of water, but the glass pitcher was empty. With laziness, she got up, put on a black silk robe over her matching nightgown, and went down to the kitchen.
• The house was silent and dark at that hour, everyone was probably sleeping peacefully while she, on the other hand, was wandering like a ghost in the middle of the night. She reached the kitchen, opened the fridge, and poured herself a large glass of water. She drank it so quickly that the cold liquid hit her chest, she sat on one of the high stools for a few minutes and stared at a fixed point with her mind lost in another place in the universe.
