• "Mama, finally you decide to come out!" exclaimed Alessandra impatiently, as she saw her mother enter the living room. She had been looking for her for a while and her Aunt Victoria had informed her that she was in a certain gentleman's room. "You took a long time inside Dominic's bedroom, what were you talking about?" she asked curiously, unable to contain her desire to know.
• Mrs. D'Santi smiled and looked at her daughter attentively, as she sat comfortably in the largest armchair in the room.
• "We didn't talk about anything important, dear," she replied, still smiling. "I just went to keep him company for a while, the poor thing spends most of his time alone and he says that you haven't visited him much in the past few days. I feel sorry for him, he must feel bored in a house where he practically doesn't know anyone and the only person he knows doesn't seem to have the intention of wanting to see him."
