Chapter 78

  • Cielo stared down at her clenched fists. Her pristine white skirt provided a stark contrast to the imaginary red staining her hands. The horrific image was seared into her mind, flashing before her eyes with every blink. She had never seen a face so horribly disfigured, a testament to pure mutilation. Damian had taken his time carving her name into the victim. She recognized the victim's scent from one of her investigations. He had been there to assist while she inspected the destruction of a neighboring pack. He was the alpha of the Lunar Pack. This victim wasn't chosen at random. Damian wanted to show her that he still had his strength after her broadcast. She had unwittingly unleashed a monster when she stripped away his anonymity.
  • She blinked again, still seeing the blood stains on her fists. The lives of this fallen pack would forever be on her hands. She hadn't been able to save them from the demented narcissist. However, she could prevent others from meeting the same fate.
  • With newfound strength, she gripped the knife Leroy had given her and opened the car door. A slight breeze greeted her, helping to cool her sweat-drenched skin and clear the image of Alpha Jorgan's corpse from her mind.
