Chapter 59

  • Mia had escorted Cielo to the palace pool, a popular gathering spot for the higher-ranked lycans. Mia had informed her that many of the Council's family members were currently residing in the palace for Cielo's upcoming coronation. The majority of the crowd was either enjoying the poolside bar or indulging in some solitary relaxation, basking in the sun or taking a swim. The bar offered more than just alcoholic beverages; it also served coffee and food, which Mia was currently queuing for. Cielo was relieved to be outdoors, as the residual heat from her heat was still lingering, and the poolside provided a refreshing respite.
  • She could hear whispers about her from the others, primarily because they were unaware of her identity. This anonymity was somewhat comforting. However, no one dared to approach her, deterred by the overpowering male scent that clung to her, a fact that Cielo found agreeable.
  • She observed several men eyeing Mia as she approached with a cup of coffee. After handing it to Cielo, Mia took a seat opposite her. "Don't worry, I didn't poison it," she joked, winking at Cielo before breaking into laughter.
