• Cielo is rigid under Cain's arm as she tries to process what has just unfolded. Silence falls over all of them, including his disgraced father. Ruben can't even bear to look at their father, and every time Cain tries, he feels a visceral urge to rip his throat out. How could their father do this to their family? How could he not tell them? Ruben is right. If their father had been honest, Danny might still be with them. Yes, Cain might have had to share his sweet Cielo with his brother, but if that meant Danny was still alive, he could handle that.
• With that thought, he pulls Cielo closer, attempting to calm his rising anger. His vision is on the brink of turning red when he realizes he needs to ask something and, for once, get the truth. "Father, what did you and Danny argue about? Honestly this time," he demands, his tone carrying a warning.
