Chapter 68

• Hastily, Cielo sets off to find her mate. She needs to inform Cain and Xander about her discovery. Perhaps Xander can elucidate what transpired when she left him alone with Dean and Randal all those years ago.
• She locates Cain where she last left him, in the Council Chambers. She tracks him down by following the sounds of a heated argument echoing down the hallway.
• "Why didn't you warn everyone about that monstrosity?" Ruben bellows with such fury that it stops Cielo in her tracks. "We have a half-brother, and you decided to ignore him? Do you realize how much trouble we could have avoided if you had just accepted him or even acknowledged him? Danny might even be alive today if you had. Cain and Danny might not have been Kings of the Beasts, but at least Danny would be alive. You could have spared Cielo the pain of killing her own mate, and saved our mother from losing her son. Most of the Council wouldn't have been massacred. Do you realize how much easier our lives would be right now? Goddess, Father, you're such a fool."
