Chapter 105

• The remainder of the day was spent cleaning up after the battle, managing the press, and celebrating their partial victory. Randal's body was moved to be burned, along with Damian's left arm. At this point, he could be alive or dead. If he was alive, it was going to be a long time for him to recover from this battle. If that was the case, hopefully, his damaged ego would keep him in permanent seclusion.
• A few hours into their clean-up, they found Cain's mother dead, and Excel missing. It didn't look like she tried to fight back, and her heart was gone. They found this out when Ruben and Cain dropped to their knees and cried out in pain while they clutched at their chests. Ruben was the one to find her.
• The council had survived the battle, and so did Cielo's family. Her family did fight in the battle and the only council members who fought were the Bordaga's and Aron. While Cain and Ruben were dealing with the grief from their mother's death, Cielo had changed into a white silk robe and spoke with the press to assure them that the kingdom was safe, and answer all of their questions.
